LREMS Takes Delviery of New Rescue Truck
January 21, 2015
Lumberton Rescue and EMS recently took delivery of a new medium duty rescue truck. The 2016 Freightliner, aka Truck 111, was built by Fire Equipment Sales in Sumter, South Carolina. FES is a division of Safe Industries. Truck 111 replaces a 2002 Ford light rescue truck. The new truck is equipped with a Honda generator, LED light tower, and a full complement of Hurst battery operated extrication tools. It is also designed to carry additional supplies for mass casualty incidents. It has the most recent Whelen lighting system available. The extended cab seats four and is equipped with a Firecom wireless headset system. All scene lights are LED, including the brow light. We would like to thank FES for their hard work on this project, and allowing it to be displayed at the recent South Atlantic Fire and Rescue Exposition in Raleigh, North Carolina. Truck 111 is in service and has already responded to several major motor vehicle collisions in the last couple of weeks. LREMS is dedicated to our community, and this represents a commitment to provide the best equipment possible for the citizens we serve.
